A 47.8M USD and 5-year flagship project of USAID under the City Development Initiative and Partnership for Growth – SURGE, fosters the development of conditions for broad-based, inclusive and resilient economic growth for a critical mass of cities and surrounding areas outside Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao.
Through our hands-on approach, ASSIST managed a series of events with over 2,200 local and international stakeholders to promote Urban Development with a focus on the importance of accelerating resilience and inclusive growth. Key ideas were also delivered to advocate for a stronger role of secondary and tertiary cities as engines of inclusive, environmentally sustainable, and resilient growth for Sustainable Land Governance.
Pivoted on the purpose of promoting the adoption of sustainability practices among businesses in the Philippines and getting at par with its ASEAN counterparts, the ACCSA has been a marquee event since 2012. It attracts 200+ practitioners every year and well over 100 companies (representing 7 of the ASEAN countries) competing for the various categories of sustainability awards.
Country development brought by Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and various technological advancements are evident in today’s digital age. Digital Strategies for Development Summit (DSDS), organized by ASSIST and in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), successfully brought together 600 people from 25 countries. The group, which consisted of ICT professionals and leaders from various sectors, participated in a knowledge exchange forum to effectively come up with ideas that will accelerate inclusive development through ICT innovations. Their joint efforts through dynamic discussions created connections, strengthened relations and exchanged knowledge on best practices of ICT innovations.
Committed to achieve United Nations-Sustainable Development Goals, the Innovation for Inclusive Impact Asia 2019 (IN_PACT) Forum and Awards successfully brought together people from different sectors involved in addressing climate change, widespread poverty and other social issues. With over 300 delegates from different government and private sectors, NGOs and civil society, academe, youth groups, and venture philanthropy, the summit was championed by leading professionals from ASSIST, AsianNGO, DLS-CSB, and Hub of Innovation for Inclusion (HIFI).
